What To Do & Where

You can spend a relaxing day on the beach basking in the sun while the sound of the shoreline waves lull you into pleasant daydreams and then top it off with casual dining and an evening of live theatre at Huron Country Playhouse. Locals joke the only thing missing from our beaches are palm trees.

Active days can be spent hiking through beautiful Pinery Provincial Park, seadoing, wakeboarding, parasailing, golfing or being caught up in the need for speed watching the MOPAR drag-racing nationals at Grand Bend Motorplex. Got something more cultural in mind? No worries. The area offers a number of art galleries – some co-op run by the artists themselves. You’ll discover unique pieces you’ll want to take home or give as gifts.

Be sure to pick up a copy of IT STARTS AT THE BEACH visitor activities guide available from the tourist kiosk in Bayfield or the Welcome Centre in Grand Bend to discover the full breadth of fun you can pack into your weekend getaway or vacation. ItStartsAtTheBeach.ca offers the visitor guide in flipbook format and lists more than 148 local events and festivals.
